Explore Resources With Me

I use body-centered counseling, Rosen Method bodywork, and movement plus creative practices in a process to help people become aware of, explore, and embody their authentic self.

I have worked as a licensed professional counselor for 30 years. I am also a nationally certified Rosen Method Bodywork practitioner (24 years) and a Maryland Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT). Learn about Rosen Method at: RosenInstitute.net                              ( https://roseninstitute.net/).

Counseling

I offer in person and online resources for:

  • Grief and Loss

  • Support for life transitions

  • Caregiver stress

  • Support for the challenges of aging

In addition I teach clients how to use a wide variety of artistic expression methods, including painting,  movement, and writing to find a new perspective within themselves.  I have learned that supporting and accompanying people in their own inner listening and discernment of Presence, visual expression and creative writing are powerful resources.

Rosen Method Bodywork

I use Rosen Method Bodywork and Embodied Self-Awareness (ESA) tools to help my clients embrace the connection between their bodies, minds, and emotions in the present moment.  This process allows us to slow down to find ease and joy in our daily lives.

A leading researcher on Rosen Method bodywork in psychology, Dr. Alan Fogel, describes restorative embodied self-awareness as "a complete awareness in the sea of...felt experiences, all the ways in which we can be in touch with the inner condition of our bodies."

Movement Classes

I hold one-hour movement classes on Thursdays from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM EST and on Tuesdays from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST.  One Saturday a month I hold a class from 10-12 AM EST.  To learn more and register -please send an email from the Contact page or at ccober4@gmail.com

My movement classes are based on Rosen Method Movement, designed by physical therapist Marion Rosen.  These classes happen in small groups with music, and support playfulness and self-awareness. The classes encourage moving with more awareness, ease, allowing for greater freedom through stretching. Participants are encouraged to move gently with as little effort as possible.

Other Resources

I co-teach contemplative meditation practices and also offer workshops & retreats that incorporate movement, art making, journaling, poetry and Silence. Please check out the Retreats page.
